My experience at wonderful Camden Yards

First of all: This Fanpost is modeled after hotdoglady's report of PNC Park. If you haven't already, check it out right here (no right click needed) as it is fantastic. Thanks for the inspiration! Now let's get onto the report!

After I saw that the Rockies were playing in Baltimore I knew I had to make it up there (I live in the DC area). However, work would get in the way and it was looking unlikely. Yet on the Friday of the first game of the series, it looked like I might be able to make it! With a quick look on Stubhub, I bought two tickets and was getting pumped to go see the Rox.

Fast forward past the messy traffic up to Baltimore from DC, I made into Camden Yards in the second inning. I am still amazed at how pretty it is even if it is my 6th time going there. We knew where our seats were good, but we couldn't believe how close we were to the field. We were four rows back, right behind home plate! And I didn't even pay that much more than folks in row 20. I wasn't going to complain and we got settled into our seats that had less legroom than a Spirit Airlines last row middle seat.

If any of you ever get the chance to sit on the field level, especially right behind home plate, I suggest you pounce on it. What an amazing experience. You can smell the grass, see facial hair on players, and be level with ground out balls. I will let some of the pictures do the talking (sorry for bad photo quality)

As you can probably gather from the photos, Camden Yards is a fantastic place to go see a game. The atmosphere is fun and the fans are not rude to opposing team's fans, which is an important part of the experience for me. The Rockies getting a nice road win made it even better. If you get the chance to go and visit the stadium, I highly recommend it. One of my favorite stadiums in the MLB (I've been to 12) and I enjoy being a quick hours drive from it.

I hope you have enjoyed putting up with my sh... I mean I hope you enjoyed this report. I am a novice writer, and photographer so this is not supposed to be a ESPN article! Please leave any comments, concerns, or questions below. GO ROCKIES!
