Tonight's loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers guaranteed two things: First, that the Rockies will finish in last place (again) in the NL West; and second, that Clayton Kershaw will finish the year with an ERA below two. He is just the second starter in Dodger's history to accomplish this feat, alongside only Sandy Koufax.
The Rockies offense collected only five singles- one each from D.J. LeMahieu, Troy Tulowitzki, Jonathan Herrera, Charlie Culberson and Collin McHugh. Collin Hugh fell to 0-4 as his ERA rose into the double digits (10.04) after allowing eight runs in four innings of work. Jeff Manship also struggled mightily, allowing 3 runs in less than two innings of work, Manny Corpas and Mitchell Boggs did not allow a run in their trip out to the mound. The team also committed three errors- a throwing error and missed catch by Charlie Blackmon, and a throwing error committed by Jordan Pacheco.
