Chacin looks to shut down the Dodgers in the second game of the series.

After losing a Labor Day slugfest to open the series yesterday, the Rockies will turn to Jhoulys Chacin to even the series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, who will be sending Ricky Nolasco to the mound.

Chacin enters the game with a 3.08 ERA in 26 starts in 2013, good enough for a record of 13-7. The Rockies are 16-10 overall when Chacin starts. In August, he allowed just nine earned runs in six starts, good for a 1.91 ERA. Chacin hasn't allowed more than three runs in a start since July 4.

His opposite number, Nolasco, joined the Dodgers on July 6 in a trade with the Miami Marlins. In his ten starts with LA, he is 6-1 with a 2.20 ERA, his only loss as a Dodger coming at the hands of Chacin and the Rockies on July 14 at Dodger Stadium. Nolasco has pitched a combined 16 scoreless innings in his last two starts.

Troy Tulowitzki returns to the Rockies lineup tonight, batting third and playing shortstop. Dexter Fowler is back leading off and playing center field as well. Carlos Gonzalez returns from the DL, but Charlie Blackmon will get the start in left field.

The Dodgers will run out a bit of a weakened lineup today, with Yasiel Puig out with an injury and Hanley Ramirez on the bench as well. Michael Young will be getting his first start as a Dodger, batting cleanup and playing third base.
