Needing a win to split this series in San Francisco, the Colorado Rockies find themselves facing Yusmeiro Petit instead of Tim Lincecum. While Petit has been a strong reliever, he has struggled as a starter this year and the Rockies will look to wake up their bats after getting just six hits and two runs in the last two games.
After getting one-hit in Tuesday night's game, Corey Dickerson was inserted back in the lineup and he combined with what has been the Rockies only other offensive threat of late, Justin Morneau, to get the team two runs last night. Even in pitcher-friendly San Francisco, this wasn't quite enough for a win. To have a chance today, Colorado will need to find some offense and Jordan Lyles needs to hold down the fort on the mound.
Of the Giants, the Rockies should stop pitching whatever it is that Buster Posey likes to hit hard. He has damaged them for three home runs so far in this series. Over the last two games, only Posey (twice) and Matt Duffy (once) have had multiple hit games for the Giants against the Rockies.
Win today, and the Rockies will have back-to-back-to-back-to-back series non-losses for the first time in ... a long time. Here are your lineups for today's game and as always, GO ROCKIES:
