Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez has left tonight's spring training game against the Padres in the fourth inning after feeling soreness in his left knee after making a throw home from right field in the third.
Gonzalez left the field in Peoria, Ariz. with a trainer in the middle of the fourth inning after striking out against Padres starter James Shields in the top of the fourth. He did not appear to be limping as he walked off.
According to Denver Post reporter Nick Groke, Gonzalez was removed from the games for precautionary reasons with a sore left knee. ROOT Sports' Jenny Cavnar reports that the soreness came after Gonzalez made a throw home from right field in the bottom of the third inning.
Gonzalez missed the final 46 games of the 2014 season after having surgery in August to repair a torn left patella tendon. He is hitting .333 this spring with three doubles in 27 at bats.
