As news comes out that Rockies' closer, Adam Ottavino, has elbow inflammation in addition to triceps soreness, it is incumbent upon GM Jeff Bridich to act. Earlier this week, Phillies' closer, Jonathan Papelbon, has demanded to be traded. He has just the remainder of this year left on his contract. It would appear to be a perfect match, especially since Kyle Kendrick is burning up the Rocks' bullpen faster than reefers at a 4/20 smoke out. If J.B. really wants to prove he isn't Dan O'Dowd 2.0, he'll give up a prospect or two in return for someone who can step in and solidify the closer's role for the Rocks. And while he is at it, he needs to get rid of Brooks Brown and Scott "Ack, back to the minors with you, Scotty" Oberg. But unfortunately, this is the Rockies and prospects that have "potential" are worth more than actual performance. Common sense and logic never seem to come into play.
