While we don't really do Football on Purple Row, given that we're a baseball site and all, SB Nation is launching their new Fantasy Football War Room for all of your Fantasy Football related questions. If FF is your bag, check it out, support our network!
Loooong time lurker here. I hope this is appropriate as a FanShot; surely someone will tell me if it is not. I don't know how much overlap there is between readers here and SABR, but the Rocky Mountain Chapter is having a little fundraiser this Saturday at the Chophouse at lunch time. And the speaker is the Marlins Manager Ozzie Guillen. It's a $20 entry fee. Lunch is extra and optional. No need to be a SABR member. There's also a note in the above link concerning RM SABR's annual November banquet. Last year's speakers were John Thorn and Rob Neyer. This year it will be Maury Wills and Roland Hemond. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hey all, Steve and I went down to Lake Elsnoire and they faced off against the Nuts. Steve took excellent video of Parker and broke it down with our hitting expert, Steve Carter. Enjoy!
Here is an excellent article from Denver Stiffs, our Nuggets blog affiliate. It compares the Nuggets ownership vs. the Rockies and provides some solid input as to why the Rox are so terrible.
Take a look at my submission for the shirt design contest as part of the YEAR OF THE FAN promotion. The winning shirt will be given away at the last home game of the year.
#Rockies reinstate catcher Wil Nieves from 15-day disabled list and designate him for assignment.

I know he is 27 now, which is old for a minor leaguer, but the guy plays hitter exceptionally well and offers positional versatility (C, 1B, 3B, RF). I don't know what kind of fielder he is, but he only has 3 errors on the season. He hits at night, he hits during the day. Hits righties and lefties, home and away, ahead in count and behind in count, runners on or bases empty, doesn't seem to matter. He just hits. He isn't going to get any younger. He needs to be given a chance.
While waiting around for the start of Jonathan Sanchez's debut in the game thread, Sjamb came up with the idea of a Purple Row Steam Group, for all you gaming Rockies fans. So join up, if you have a Steam account, and we can go pwn some n00bs, or something like that.
Christian Friedrich: Epic Hero
DK was one of my favorite Rockies when I was a kid. Hard to believe it's been 10 years since he died. The Life and Death of Darryl Kile will be on MLB Network tonight at 7 p.m. MT. Sounds like it will focus mainly on the Astros and Cardinals, but we'll see plenty of Joe Girardi and Dave Veres. I'm hoping Larry Walker or Mike Hampton will appear as well.
