Game #38: Reynolds vs. Young

I didn't realize until today that the last few games have been mis-labeled. Rox Girl made Wednesday's game #33 after Tuesday's game was #33. Anyway . . .

Greg Reynolds makes his debut this afternoon!

Go Rockies!

No stat box available for Reynolds (minor league numbers), but here's Young's:

Game #35: Cook vs. Peavy

One. Two. Three? With Cook on the mound, it might just be so. Probably an easier time without Peavy on the mound, but he is. Nothing like a little adversity to overcome in getting a third straight win.

Go Rockies!

Game #32: Jimenez vs Pineiro

San Diego 11 20 .354 9.5 Lost 1

(updated 5.5.2008 at 5:25 PM EDT)

The season thus far has been a slog through the mud, and it only gets worse staying near the bottom of the pile. Jimenez needs to follow up on his performance last time out and hopefully get through the sixth inning this time. The Rockies certainly need to do a better job of capitalizing on opponents' weaknesses. Pineiro enters tonight having suffered back spasms earlier in the week, if he's even a little off, our bats better be ready to capitalize. Look for a lot of strikes, he doesn't like to get behind in the count, which should play into the strengths of a couple of our hitters that like to come up swinging like Matt and Yorvit.
