Sunday Morning Rockpile: Another Day, Another Game?
As users Charlie77 and jjmckay noted last night, there's a good chance for some form of precipitation all day today. We'll have to look for updates throughout the day. And the temperatures aren't supposed to be higher than the mid 40s F. Perfect baseball weather.
As we wait for the game, why not read the reaction of Reds fans to the hiring of Dusty Baker, and find out how a fan from Baker's last club thinks things will turn out. Everyone remembers this gem from Baker, right?
-----
The Denver Post has something on the history of religion in baseball and brings up the Rockies. We haven't read enough about that lately, so no link. But, hey, the team has three young Latino pitchers playing important roles this season. Maybe that'll quiet, as one diary recently brought up, the talk about some supposed profiling of who is brought in an signed by the Rockies.
We all know about the profiling the media practices in sports. On today's Sports Reporters, the Rockies were such a great story that they were covered for about two minutes, sandwiched in between the Indians-Red Sox game and Kentucky beating LSU in overtime. Business as usual. Someone should tell those guys that Denver's a baseball town.

Where I live
In Denver it's supposed to only rain...but it'll be cold. We'll see about this game...stay WARM, boys!
Either way, it's going to be freezing tonight, for the players and the fans. The fans just need to make a lot of noise and energy...might help out. :)

Ha!
Does anyone live in Denver? What's it doing there? Snowing? Raining? Neither?

Snow? Baseball?
Then Cleveland/Seattle happened this year with the Mariners (my AL team) getting snowed out of an entire series. So, yeah, media. Enough about snow.

Hope it is a baseball town
I sorta like the Broncos.
May I ask what time the game is, et? Or will you make me go to ESPN with DIALUP to find out for myself? :(

wait... what???
just teasing. no hard feelings. hey, it happened to the heat a couple years later, and then again to dallas last year, so it's not like you're the only team to drop the ball in the first round as a #1 seed.

Ass-u-ming...
Not that I think this is headed to game 7, I think a game 5 is doubtful at this point. Just thought the question should be raised.

Speaking of a rain out
BUT, I don't think it's a rain out. Not even heavy rain around, just little sprinkle showers on and off, and as I write this at 2pm mtn. it hasn't rained here in Parker for several hours now.

There's only one... what?
Also, with the way the media's been treating every team that's not Boston in this round, I'd almost like to see a Cleveland/Colorado World Series with enough snow delays to push the deciding game back to Thanksgiving.

Haha, that's awesome!
What makes them even worse is that you can tell they were all pre-recorded. He'll say "Arizona Diamondbacks", completely change his tone of voice to say "Colorado Rockies", and then say a bunch of generic "It's getting intense", "Which team wants it more", and "I love the sound of my own voice" -s. He doesn't even know the teams he's promo-ing. Like, when they were listing the players who are under 26 and are "the future", notice that they left off, um, Matt Holliday? I mean, they had to make room for all the Red Sox...and I'll bet Cook couldn't pronounce Tulowitzki...
Anyway, great link, thanks for sharing!

Prediction
Final score: Good Guys 9 Snakes 4
On the other hand, if there is an abnormal amount of precipitation: rain delay in 3rd, upon play resuming, Eric Byrnes slips trotting out to his position and breaks his leg. Then we never have to see him do a somersault on a throw to the cut-off man and Rockies win 45 to -6.
Man I love this site, just decided to join. Kudos to the regulars here.

It is...
It is 34 degrees outside.
In other words, it is cold.
I was just down in Denver. It was drizzling, and 44 degrees. Sounds like fun!! Everyone will have to sit in the same corner of the dugout or something to keep warm.
