PrintRemember that seven-year, $126M deal Scott Boras got for Barry Zito last off season? Yeah, that deal made Zito ridiculously overpaid. Well, Johan Santana asked the Twins for a similar deal. That's just . . . reasonable, even though he'd receive better offers once he hit the market next off season. But, hey, if teams not named the Rockies want to give out exorbitant contracts to pitchers not named Santana I'm all for it.

Scott Boras isn't evil...
I love Matt Holliday, but it's time to prepare ourselves for his eventual departure. If he wanted to stay in Colorado and still earn good money he would have hired somebody else.
