Think about that. Peavy, Webb, Santana and the Giants' young guns ....

Do the Giants even have young players? I can think of Lewis, Davis, Frandsen, and Cain; only Cain is really good out of that group. While I suppose that being under 35 qualifies you as young on that team, I think you mean the Dodgers' young guns...? ;)

Those two are great pitchers, but you're right, the rest of the team is old or just not good enough. I was trying to point out how strong everybody's top of the rotation would be at that point.

We'd be the toughest division in baseball to face, pitching-wise. AZ would have Webb/Owings, SD Maddux/Peavy/Young, Dodgers Billingsley/Santana (if the trade goes through, hope it doesn't) us Francis/Jimenez/Morales, and SF Cain/Lincecum. But then again, as long as the SF offense gives Cain diddly-squat...

Poor Garrett and Jason!

I'm going to be in Brekenridge Friday night, Saturday, Sunday.

When are these games going to be played?
I have a bad feeling I'll miss it if the Rox make round 1.

I had read

Fogg was a FA somewhere, and that his performance down the stretch had priced him out of the Rockies payroll.

If he can get Ethier, Moeller, and Valdez in order, it will either make Lowe bat to lead off the sixth or make Little pull him for a pinch hitter, which I would welcome because he's on a bit of a roll.

Plus, if Fogg can at least keep the two run lead, we have the heart of the order coming up ready to tack on some runs in the next inning.

has always floated the idea that with runners on late in the game, the Rockies should lift Taveras for a pinch hitter that doesn't just rely on infield hits.

I'd say the same is true with Pierre with runner's on. You just knew he'd have to hit a bleeder or this one would be over.

MORAL DILEMMA

I'm in LA and the Rockies are in town...I couldn't make it these first two nights because of commitments but I think I'm going to the game tomorrow.

However, the Rockies have about a .200 winning percentage when I watch their games in person. Naturally, they're on a 10 game win streak when I want to go.

Do I risk jinxing the Rox and make the trip out to Chavez Ravine?
