So Vicente Padilla, who was released mid-season last year and shot himself in the leg in November, will start the first game of the year for the Dodgers. (Cue up the "Dodgers Shooting Themselves in the Foot" headlines...)
This has to be an April Fools' joke that they mistakenly released a few days early, right? I'm not sure if Padilla is even one of their 5 best starters, and he certainly isn't in the top 3.
I love this Torre quote: "We just had to pick somebody and he was the one." That realllly inspires confidence in his whole staff, doesn't it?
