Don't Give Up Yet...

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that all is great, that there are no problems, that we are right where we want to be.  That would be naive.

But it seems that too many are giving up.  Have we forgotten what this team has done in the past?  Sure, things are ugly, but two of the last three NL Champs have been in approximately the same position as we are now in May.  This is a long season and there is plenty of time for guys like Francis, Ubaldo, Hawpe, Todd, and Matty to figure things out and for the team at large to remember how to score and win.

In 2005, the Astros were (drumroll...) 15-25...  Last year on May 21 we were 18-27...

Both of these teams turned out ok, you could say.

Also last year, the NY Yankees found themselves in a deep hole early.  13 and a half games out of first by May 30.  They found a way to turn things around when they were being counted out and won the AL WC.

It blows my mind when I see people posting that they aren't going to be going to games, that the season is over, that all is lost and to trade away the team.  Things are not over.  I am not going to turn the other way.  This is my favorite team playing my favorite sport and I'm sure as hell going to support them.  I am not a fair weather, bandwagon jumping "win or I'll stop supporting you" mentality fan.  For those that are... I hear that the MLS is a nice way to pass the summer...
