Three-Way Deal with Yankees?

On MLBTR they have a rumor (It's just a rumor) about a three-way deal involving the Yankees, Mariners, and us. The deal would send outfielder Hideki Matsui from the New York Yankees to the Seattle Mariners for a pitching prospect, perhaps Ryan Rowland-Smith. The Yankees would package the prospect with second baseman Robinson Cano and another young player to the Rockies for Matt Holliday. So we would be getting a prospect from the Mariners, Cano, and a prospect from the Yankees.

My Rocktober Story

From an outsider who doesn't live in Colorado (Or anywhere close to Colorado). I may not remember a lot about that though :(

Before The Streak I was wearing my Rockies shirt to bed every night and when we started winning I didn't stop. Let's just say after a month of not washing it and a bunch of ice cream stains on it it was pretty bad.

On the Tie-Breaker game I learned that my team had a make-up baseball game (This was for the game that was rained out the day before when we clinched to go to the tiebreaker). I was sooo upset, but about 2 hours before the game started my coach called and said we had to forfeit because we didn't have enough players (The baseball gods loved me that week LOL).

I was excited for the Tie-Breaker game, but don't remember a lot, but anxiety and a bad feeling in my stomach. The pit of my fear capped when Holliday mis-played the ball in Left. Luckily we had the last AB so I wasn't as nervous and I would've been had it been in San Diego. I stayed up the whole night until Julio gave up the HR (At like 1:30 AM CT on a school night). I went to sleep (Literally I fell asleep, almost crying think how close we were) after that HR and was woken up by my dad right before Holliday hit his triple.

When I saw Holliday hit his triple I thought, "We are going to win". When Carroll came up and hit the shallow-fly to right I was thinking "Go go, wait no no". When he was called safe I was ESTATIC!!! I was pretty sure the neighbors heard me at like 2:15 in the morning screaming.

I went to bed at like 3 after the high and I really didn't get good sleep after that. The next day I wore my Bichette jersey (Yes, I own a Bichette jersey) to school and was on a high.

Much after that I don't remember, but I remember staying up for every game and then the let down of the World Series.

Rockies Trade Juan Castro

We traded Minor-League Shortstop Juan Castro to the Orioles last night for Mike McCoy. Castro was .300 in 18 games with Colorado Springs. McCoy was batting .277 in 52 games with AAA and has played 2B, 3B, SS, OF, and P during his time in the minors. Don't know really what to think of this trade as it seems we are just swapping decent prospects?

Live the Dream

Ok, I have been a life long Rockies fan, and I wasn't allowed to enter the Live the Dream Promotion because of my age. I am currently 14, about to turn 15 and you have to be 18 years or older to enter. Not trying to dump on anyone or raise myself above them, but I know more about the Rockies then some older Rockies fans.

That just doesn't seem right and I was just seeing if you guys agreed with me or if it was me being short-sighted

Song that Represents the past 2 years

http://free.napster.com/player/?play_id=16718205&type=track

This is a song by Hoobastank called "Look Where We Are Now"

I believe this REALLY represents the Rockies situation last year and this year.

Lyrics: http://www.versuri.ro/versuri/mgifg_hoobastank+look+where+we+are.html

It starts out in what would be last year saying "I remember when this was a dream, but we worked and now we are here".

Then it goes to this year saying "We still have a long way, but we got better since last year"

Rockin' Retro Rockies: OF Dante Bichette

Your Rockin Retro Rockie is: OF DANTE BICHETTE!

Bichette started out in 1988, after being drafted, as part of the California Angels. With the Angels he hit an average BA of .242 with his highest season being .255. After a couple of dismal seasons the California Angels then traded Bichette to the Milwaukee. He was traded for Dave Parker who hit .282 in his only season with the Brewers because he hung em up the next year. Bichette played 2 season there before being traded to the Rockies. He was traded for Kevin Reimer however Reimer never played a game for the Rockies because he was drafted Nov. 17, 1992 and was traded Nov. 17 1992 . With the Rockies is when Bichette exploded. He never hit below .290 and never less than 20 HR and 80 RBI. He was a 4 time MVP, a 4 time All-Star and a 1 time Silver Slugger award winner. Then he was traded to Cincinnnatti, for Stan Belinda and Jeffrey Hammonds, and Boston for Chris Reitsma and John Curtice (minors). He ended up hitting .350 that year. The next year he filed for FA but wasn't picked up so he retired.

Side note: He went 10 for 17 (.588 BA) in the 4 1995 Playoff games he played in as a Colorado Rockie

That's the career of All-Star Dante Bichette

His average stats were:

Interested?

Have any of you have ever read the book Faithful?I was hoping to do something like that with the Rockies but I'd need your help, since I live in MO and can only catch the games on MLB Extra Innings. I also have school so I would need for someone to fill me in on what happened during the night around like 9:00 RMT during the game becuase I'll probably be asleep. During the weekends and summer I'm fine but just need helping during the school week. Any1 want to help? Poll is fixed 4 days left to vote: http://www.baseball-fever.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31
