Rhadames Manzueta still has some issues to work out, he and Aussie Ross Hipke got hit hard in day one for Casper. Dexter Fowler had a double, Cole Garner went hitless in four at bats. Corey Wimberly had two hits and proved to be the dynamic speedster we heard about when we drafted him.
Tri-City lost six to five although Phillip Cuadrado went two for three with a HR.
Asheville won, Franklin Morales had a dominant five innings before running into trouble when he was extended to the sixth, allowing a three run homer to Jashua Hansen. Asheville still won behind Joe Koshansky's huge bat and a key three run blast of Justin Nelson late in the game.
Troy Tulowitzky was hitless in four AB's for his Modesto debut although the Nuts still won behind a Chris Ianetta two run homer and key contributions from several other Nuts offensively (including Ian Stewart) as well as strong relief by Jamey Burch and Jim Miller.
Tulsa's PJ Bevis allowed all five runs for the East All-Stars in his one inning of work, those were the only scores of the game, in fact as Jon Asahina and the two Parkers and the rest of the West all pitched scoreless ball besides that in a 5-0 loss. Ryan Spillborghs was one for four with three K's.
Shawn Chacon got roughed up for four runs in a two and two-thirds innings in his first rehab start at Colorado Springs. The Sky Sox' Jud Thigpen went two for four with a double in the loss.
