Bio: Price enters the 2007 college season as the top southpaw, the top pitcher, the top collegian and the top prospect in the draft.
The Dodgers drafted Price in the 19th round of the 2004 draft, knowing he would attend Vanderbilt. You can find a report from MLB Scouting on Price at MLB.com's 2004 draft section. He's gained an inch (or two since some places list his height at 6'6") in height and he's filled out his body. Unfortunately the video on the site appears to no longer work.
Brewerfan.net is an invaluable resource for draft discussion and here is what Patrick Ebert has to say about Price (you can read the entire profile here):
In a game against Arkansas last season, Price struck out a career-high 17 batters. His previous record was 15 against Brown earlier that season and was named NCBWA Pitcher of the Week as a result.
Price has also been a summer standout as he was named Baseball America's Summer Player of the Year in 2006.
The only downside with Price is that he lists David Justice as the greatest baseball player of all time in his Vanderbilt profile.
Possible Important Starts:
2/9/07: Rice - Price will be Vandy's Friday starter and with the first game of the season against the Owls, the Commodores will need their ace to be sharp.
3/23/07: Arkansas - Price vs. Razorback lefty Nick Schmidt.
4/20/07: Tennessee - Price vs. Volunteer lefty James Adkins.
4/27/07: Florida - Great offense vs. great pitcher.
