Jason Smith: 2005 Brian Roberts or 2001 Mark Grudzielanek?

Last year, Brian Roberts seemingly came out of nowhere with a scorching April for Baltimore and ended up being one of the surprises of the season as a breakthrough player. Flashback to 2001, when Mark Grudzielanek had a .537 SLG in April for the Dodgers, but then went back to being Mark Grudzielanek the rest of the year. Now Jason Smith is here, with three jacks already, is he an April fluke or is he a 2006 spook? Both Smith and Roberts are closer to typical peaks, but remember that Roberts had hit fifty doubles the year before he started launching them over the fence at a regular rate, no such history for Smith or Grudz.
