Ian Stewart is Paul Bunyan, at least in the minds of people who saw him during ST. A position change is also brought up.
Renck's mailbag gives us an idea on who might be a future staple in the Pebble Report.
Colorado Springs: Jayson Nix went 3-for-4 with a double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Jorge Piedra hit his 3rd homer of the season. Sunny Kim went 7, gave up 10 hits and allowed 4 to cross the plate--Kim did not take the loss though as a 5-run 8th inning doomed the Sky Sox.
Tulsa: Jud Thigpen hit a sac fly in the top of the 9th to give the Drillers the 8-7 victory tonight. Alvin Colina hit a 3-run homer and had a total of 4 RBI last night. Koshansky hit his 7th homer and also took three walks. Manuel Corpas now has 10 saves on the season.
Modesto: Duke Sardinha went 3-for-4 last night and was the only Nut to cross the plate in the 6-1 loss. Ryan Mattheus could have done better also as he went 6, gave up 7 hits, 5 ER, walked 3 and K'ed 3.
Asheville: Unfortunately, Chaz Roe did not start last night. Eric Young had a 3-for-4 night with a double and his 16th RBI. He also had his 30th SB, was caught for the 12th time and committed his 12th error. SS Radames Nazario made his full-season debut after leaving Extended. He went 1-for-1 with a walk. Brandon Durden had a decent start despite the loss, though control is still an issue.
