Thursday Pebble Report

Colorado Springs: The bats didn't really fall silent last night (7 H) for the Sky Sox, but not a single baserunner crossed home plate as the team lost 6-0. Mike Esposito was knocked around for 10 hits and 4 runs, but walked none and struck out 5. Todd Helton went 1-for-3.

Tulsa: The Drillers won last night after being outhit by Midland. Christian Colonel accounted for both RBI on a double and a sac fly. Tulo struck out twice and he has 21 in 21 games. Emmanuel Ulloa had a goodstart as he went 6 2/3 innings and K'ed 8. Manuel Corpas picked up his 5th save.

Modesto: In the Nuts' loss last night, Corey Wimberly stole two more bases for 14 on the season, but was also caught for the 5th time this season. Chris Frey went 3-for-5 with a triple and 2 RBI. Morales pitched 6 strong innings and struck out 8, but did not factor into the decision as Darric Merrell blew the save in 1/3 of an inning
by giving up 4 runs.

Asheville: The team continues to strike out quite a bit as 10 more were racked up last night. EY Jr. and Fowler both stole their 15th base of the season. Chris Nelson hit his 2nd homerun in the loss. Jake Postlewait took the loss, but none of the 6 runs he gave up were earned runs.
