College: Georgia Tech kicks off the CWS today at 2 p.m. against Clemson and Jeff Kindel should play a big part in the Tech offense. At 7 p.m. the Tar Heels and Jay Cox take of the Titans of Cal State Fullerton.

Colorado Springs: Sky Sox: 8. Las Vegas: 4. Ryan Shealy hit his 12th homer last night (2-run) and also added a third RBI, a total of 43 on the season. Jeff Baker hit his 6th homer to reach 48 RBI. Sean Barker also hit his 5th homer and had a total of 4 RBI. Miguel Asencio recorded his 6th win by going 6 innings, allowing 3 R on 5 H, and K'ing 3.

Tulsa: The Drillers won 6-2 off 4 homers yesterday, with 2 coming by way of Joe Koshansky's bat(19 HR, 57 RBI). Chris Iannetta (11 HR, 26) and Joe Gaetti (8 HR, 27 RBI) hit the other two homers. Ian Stewart went 2-for-4 with an RBI (35).  Emmanuel Ulloa lasted only an inning after injuring his leg while stiumbling over first base. Alberto Arias pitched the next 5 innings and picked up the win.

Modesto: Matt Miller hit his second triple and tied Koshansky with his 57th RBI in the loss. Chris Frey also picked up 2 RBI (26). Ryan Mattheus was pounded last night in 5 innings of work. He allowed 6 R on 11 H, walked 2 and K'ed 3.

Asheville: Daniel Carte hit his 4th homer, Travis Becktel worked two walks and stole his 17th base, and Chris Nelson swiped his 8th one in the 3-2 loss. Alan Johnson went 7 innings, allowed 2 R (1 ER) on 9 H and K'ed 7.
