Colorado Springs: Jered Weaver dominated the Sky Sox yesterday (1 ER, 11 K) for the win. Jeff Baker drove in his 55th RBI but he also K'ed 3 times (the same for Salazar). Manuel Corpas' first AAA performance was not too hot. He K'ed 1 in two-thirds of an inning, but allowed a homer as his only hit.
Tulsa: Thomas Diamond did more of the same against the Drillers by K'ing 12 in the Drillers loss. Joe Koshansky K'ed 3 times and Macri, Gaetti and Stewart all twice. Stewart also hit his 23rd double. Marc Kaiser went 7 1/3 innings after back-to-back complete games. He K'ed 3, gave up 3 HRs and allowed 4 ER.
Modesto: Play resumes tonight.
Asheville: Chaz Roe did not factor into the decision, but it wasn't the greatest outing for him. He did set a career high in K's with 8, but also walked 4 and allowed 5 R on 9 H. Andrew Johnston picked up his 8th save. Cole Garner went 2-for-2 with 2 BBs, an RBI and SBs 17 and 18. EY Jr. had no hits but walked 3 times and stole his 55th base. Chris Nelson had a double and an RBI. Phil Cuadrado also added 2 RBI. Daniel Carte hit his 1st triple.
Tri-City: Confirmation that Baker is rehabbing while staying with Tri-City. The game for the Dust Devils was a close one, but they pulled off the 2-1 victory on only 1 hit. Geoff Strickland had the only hit (a triple), which led to Josh Banda crossing home plate. Daniel Mayora had the other RBI. Tomas Santiago went 7 innings and K'ed 5 but did not not factor into the decision. Sean Jarrett blew the save, James Freeman picked up the win and George Delgado the save.
Casper: This was a complete disaster right around the end of the 4th inning when the Rockies were down 11-0. David Christensen is coming back down after a hot start as he K'ed 3 times last night. Hector Gomez collected 2 more hits, while Logan Wiens and Michael Milliron had the two RBIs. Esmil Rogers gave up 5 R in 3 1/3 innings. Michael Gibbs was a bit err. . . worse. He went only 1/3 of an inning and gave up 6 R.
