Luis A. Gonzalez at catcher?

Trying something new

According to LuGo, he will during the off-season:

His second base job long vanished, Luis Gonzalez will attempt to become a more versatile player this winter. He plans to catch in the Venezuelan League a few times. "Why not? I have already told my agent to order me a glove," said Gonzalez, who has caught a few bullpen sessions in the past couple of years.

Now let's assume that he performs well in the VWL, does anyone think he'd play the position for the Rockies?

Well that's a silly question since we have Clint Hurdle for a manager. I wouldn't view him as anything other than the emergency catcher.

Etc.

The Rockies will be without the service of Brian Fuentes for tonight and tomorrow as he attends his grandfather's funeral
