Colorado Springs: The Sky Sox won 12-11 after scoring two in the bottom of the 8th. Sean Barker hit a solo shot and a grand slam, while Carlos Rivera hit two two-run home runs. J.D. Closser also had a home run. Nate Field picked up his eighteenth save.
Tulsa: Seth Smith continued his barrage of doubles by hitting numbers thirty-nine and forty last night during Wichita's 3-1 victory. Ian Stewart added his thirty-sixth double. Joe Koshansky crept closer to the century mark for RBI last night after driving in his ninety-seventh runner. Steven Register fell to 3-8.
Stu Cole returns to the AFL again; Seth Smith is now the Rockies holder for most doubles at the Double A level. And he keeps on adding to it.
Modesto: The Mod Bee let's us know that last night's starter Greg Reynolds is on a 75-pitch count. He went four innings, saw no runs score on five hits, walked two and struck out three. Nelson, Brooks, Davies and Valdez wach had an RBI.
Asheville: Phil Cuadrado had five RBI in the 13-12, while Delmarva's Mark Fleisher hit three two-run home runs for six RBI last night. Nelson Robledo and Florentino Nunez each had two RBI, while Carte and Paulk had one RBI each. Eric Young collected three hits and his seventy-fourth RBI. Dex Fowler stole his thirty-third and Chris Nelson his twelfth. Brandon Durden picked up his ninth win and Pedro Strop allowed four runs in a third of an inning.
Tri-City: Keith Weiser pitched five innings and struck out four, but did not factor in the 6-1 Dust Devils victory. Jackson, McKenry, Kindel, Mayora and Banda each had one RBI.
Casper: The Baby Rockies won this tight one 3-2. Helder Velazquez and Jesse Borwnell each chipped in an RBI (the other run was unearned). David Christensen connected for two hits and one was a double. Robinson Fabian went five innings, walked three and struck out one.
