Taking a Cue from True Blue LA

New, comments

This post over at True Blue LA about ZIPS Projection and Lineup Analysis Tool from Baseball Musings inspired me to do the same for the Rockies (using the 1998-2002 model).

You can find the results here. If you compare it to the Dodgers projection, even the worst lineup projections for the Rockies are close to the best for the Dodgers.

Of course, there are a few problems with the lineups. The first is that Todd Helton will not bat leadoff at all. The second is the pitcher won't bat anywhere other than ninth. Other than that, it's a nice little tool.
