Scouting Report / Bio: A true power reliever. At 6-8, Clarke is an imposing figure on the mound. As a result of his impressive height, Clarke uses a natural downhill delivery. He effectively mixes his high-90s fastball with a hard breaking slurve. A starter earlier in his career, Clarke was converted into a full-time reliever in 2005. He missed most of 2006 dealing with a strained right lat muscle and has dealt with conditioning issues in the past. He also missed most of 2004 and 2005 because of recurring elbow injuries.
Future Outlook: Projects as a future set-up man. Needs to stay healthy and consistently repeat his delivery. Will begin the year with Tulsa, but should move up quickly.
