Tuesday Pebble Report

Colorado Springs, L 6-8: Ryan Spilborghs went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a homer last night in a contest that had the Sky Sox out-hitting their opponent 11-9. Spilborghs and Colina both had two RBI with Jayson Nix collecting the other (he also walked twice). Nix, Colina and Koshansky each had an error last night. Bobby Keppel allowed four runs in five innings, but two of them crossed the plate when Josh Newman took over for him in the 6th inning. Denny Bautista walked three in the eighth inning.

Tulsa, W 8-7 in 10: The Tulsa World has the key offensive performances of the night and the exciting pitching matchup for tonight's game. Greg Reynolds pitched five innings, saw two runs cross home on six hits. He also walked two and struck out two with a GO-FO at 9-4. Steven Register picked up his third save of the season.

Modesto: Off-day for the Cal League.

Asheville, L 2-6, W 13-5:

Game 1: Wade Townsend bested Josh Sullivan yesterday afternoon for the victory. Sullivan went 4 2/3 IP, allowed five runs on eight hits and walked five. Sean Jarrett pitched the final 2 1/3 innings, struck out two and allowed one run. Asheville batters struck out only six times and Paulk walked twice.

Game 2: According to the Asheville Citizen-Times, 75 people may have been in the stadium for this contest, including team employees. The bottom of the order led the team to victory last night as Jay Cox (2), Victor Ferrante (3) and Logan Wiens (3) all had multiple RBI. Ferrante's came off a three-run shot in the sixth and Wiens was a solo shot in the second. Daniel Mayora also recorded two doubles in the game, while Anthony Jackson stole two bases. Andrew Graham went six innings and struck out four in the seven inning contest. He also allowed four of the opponent's runs.
