Opening Day is done and over with. It'll be another year before we have that type of anticipation again. It's one game out of 162 and for all we know, no matter how improbable, the Rockies could go on a 161-game winning streak.
But for tonight's game we get Jeff "Franchise" Francis on the mound, opposite Livan Hernandez. While Francis attempts to dazzle the D'Backs into submission, Clint Hurdle will serve the one game suspension he received in the Brocail-Francis ordeal. Jamie Quirk will have his mettle tested as the manager tonight and maybe show a team owner that he deserves to be a manager next season.
And in case anyone missed it, you can see Cincinnati mayor Mark Mallory's "pitch" here.
