Pebble Report: Minor League Opening Day Open Thread

We've got a full slate tonight, with several intriguing storylines to follow. I'm sure I'm missing some, so be sure to chime in.

Colorado Springs The Sky Sox open their season tonight against Arizona's Tucson affiliate at Security Service Field with Brian Lawrence taking the mound. The Colorado Springs Gazette provides a bit of a preview, and KZNT AM 1460 will have the audio starting at 6:05.

Tulsa The Drillers square off against San Diego's new again AA affiliate, San Antonio. Tulsa's got an awesome front three to its rotation this season, tonight Greg Reynolds starts. San Antonio's KKYX will webcast the action, although you'll have to flip back and forth if you want to listen to pieces of both the Sky Sox and Drillers games as they are starting at the same time.

Modesto The Nuts open at John Thurman field against another Snake nest, former Rockies farm site Visalia switched affiliation from the D-Rays to Arizona this past offseason. Brian VanderBeek profiles one of my favorite sleepers, EY Jr. You can listen live to this game that starts at 8:05 MDT by linking here. I'm assuming Chaz Roe will be tonight's starter, or possibly Alan Johnson, since they were the only two starters not used in the exhibition on Tuesday. If somebody has the correct info, please share.

Update [2007-4-5 13:3:34 by Rox Girl]:

Dexter Fowler made MiLB's top 10 players to watch list, of High A talent, I'll have to say I'm in complete agreement there.

Asheville: The Tourists are suitably the only affiliate on the road to start the season, travelling to face the Savannah Sand Gnats, a Mets affiliate. Thanks to comments, I now know Josh Sullivan's pitching and apparently there's radio coverage online through the Minor League Baseball portal on the Tourists' official site.
