Modesto, W 3-2: Randy Johnson didn't faze the Nuts all that much yesterday afternoon as the Nuts were able to get two runs off him before he left after the sixth. Chris Nelson scored one of the runs against Johnson and eventually crossed home plate in the 9th to give the Nuts the victory. Jeff Kindel and Phil Cuadrado both hit doubles. Brandon Hynick started the game, went six strong innings, allowed no earned runs on five hits and struck out six. Pedro Strop struck out two in two innings.
Asheville, L 1-5: Things could have gone better for Aneury Rodriguez in his full-season debut. In 4 2/3 IP, he allowed four runs on nine hits.
