Hirsh started his month off right with a strong six innings of two-run baseball. He was perfect through 4 2/3 innings against the 'Stros before allowing a double to Luke Scott. But the Rockies couldn't score more than one run in that game and Hirsh took the loss. The Rockies left 17 men on base.
Since April 23 when he went 4 2/3 innings and allowed five runs, Bedard has not pitched fewer than six innings in any of his eight starts since and has seen no more than three runs score in any of those outings. Time for Bedard to start a new streak after today, right?
