If the Rockies are going to get back into this race for the NL West, they will have to do it in their next series with the D-backs that starts a week from yesterday, and the series with the Padres a week after that. Sandwiched between and preceding those series we have the Nationals and Giants. This shouldn't be as difficult as the team is making it. There is a bit of hope in that we've got all the right opponents in September to be in a good position to close on a playoff spot with a successful month.
It seems the Rox will be getting their absent hitters back before pitching help arrives given the progress on injury fronts. This means that if we are to come back, we're going to have to do it with Dessens and Morales and Fogg. Okay, so maybe this is as difficult as the team is making it.
