Despite the current eight game win streak, there are a lot of contention prohibiting monkeys left on the Rockies back that could start to be excised with a strong series against the Mariners. For a start, there's the historically bizarre 9-14 home record as well as the 7-11 record against left handed starters in 2009. Seattle will start three solid left handers against the Rockies this weekend, starting with Washburn tonight, so it could be a good test to see if Colorado is really ready to take the season into a contending conversation or if the team should continue to focus its efforts on acquiring assets for 2010.
