I found this game boring despite the outcome and performances. Maybe because it came against the Pirates, whom the Rockies should beat like this.
Ubaldo Jimenez, despite four walks, struck out six over eight innings and allowed only three hits. He had the best WPA in this game: .341.
Carlos Gonzalez started the scoring with a two-run homer in the first inning. And then, lo and behold, Clint Barmes had a hit that drove in a run, and it wasn't on a homer (it was a single). He'd repeat this feat in the sixth with an RBI double. Troy Tulowitzki started that inning off with a triple and scored on a Hawpe double. Not to be out done, Chris Iannetta hit a two-run double in the seventh, which was immediately followed by a Ryan Spilborghs RBI double.
All is well again.
