Game #142: Jorge De La Rosa vs Edward Mujica

Meanwhile, up the California coast, Hiroki Kuroda vs Matt Cain starts minutes after this one gets underway. Jorge De La Rosa has an opportunity to level his career record at 40-40 with another win tonight. As Russ linked in this morning's Rockpile, he's been working with Bob Apodaca and video to try and improve on a rough appearance vs. the Diamondbacks the last time out.

Jorge De La Rosa

#29 / Pitcher / Colorado Rockies

Apr 05, 1981

Edward Mujica

#45 / Pitcher / San Diego Padres

May 10, 1984

I'm sure Poseidon's Fist will probably have already gone over some of this by the time this thread gets posted (still on the road so I'm prepping it well in advance) but the Padres have won five straight series since August 25th, four of which came on the road against playoff contending teams (Atlanta, Florida, LA and San Francisco). The Rockies are a team that has given them troubles this season, having won eight of twelve contests against San Diego thus far in 2009. The challenge for the Rockies starting tonight will be to keep that latter point valid while putting a stop to the Padres recent roll. San Diego for its part wants to stop the Rockies run and get some measure of vengeance for 2007. Satisfaction for the Padres will be denied.
