The Rockies will be offering LHP Jorge De La Rosa (Type A) and RHP Octavio Dotel (Type B) the chance to return to the club under an arbitration-dictated contract.
The two pitchers have until Tuesday, November 30th to accept or decline. Should either pitcher accept, they will return to the team's roster and undergo the same procedures as any normal pre-free agency arbitration eligible player. Should they depart, we will receive compensatory draft picks, assuming they sign with another team. Type A De La Rosa would yield a Supplementary first round pick, as well as a pick in either the first or second round depending on the draft placement of the signing team. Type B Dotel would yield just the supplementary pick.
Jim Armstrong of the Denver Post has the story here
Armstrong also mentions continued Rockies interest in potential offensive additions Kevin Kouzmanoff, Jermaine Dye, Jose Lopez, as well as new names Andruw Jones and Magglio Ordonez, as well as Jon Garland, Javier Vazquez, Carl Pavano and Gavin Floyd.
