Rockies Announce 2011 Minor League Staff

Troy Renck of the Denver Post has provided a complete list of the minor league staff for this upcoming season.

Major changes include longtime Rockies coach Duane Espy assuming the manager's role at Tulsa, replacing Ron Gideon, who will remain with the organization as a field coordinator, a position he doubled up on last year. Espy has managed or been the hitting coach for several levels of the Rockies organization over the past eight years.

Much of Asheville's 2010 staff has been promoted. Hitting coach Kevin Riggs will join the Modesto Nuts, while pitching coach Dave Schuler will be joining Tulsa. Newcomer Lenn Sakata and former Dust-Devils pitching coach Joey Eischen will be replacing them in Asheville. Another newcomer in Dave Burba will be replacing Eischen with the short season team.

The rumors of Stu Cole's likely departure to Pittsburgh to work with Clint Hurdle were greatly exaggerated, as he remains the AAA manager for another year, rejoining hitting coach Rene Lachemann and pitching coach Doug Linton.

At the major league level, former minor league coach Marv Foley has been announced as the replacement for bullpen catcher and catching coordinator Mark Strittmatter, who did follow Hurdle East to Pittsburgh.
