D-backs

  • To be posted as it becomes available

Jason Hammel, Jorge De La Rosa, Franklin Morales, Randy Flores, Manny Corpas and Juan Rincon are all scheduled to pitch for the Rockies. Billy Buckner, Bobby Howry, Leo Rosales and three other pitchers will be throwing for Arizona.

Notes:

  • In the absence of several regulars, the Rockies lineup looks different from what we'll probably see on opening day, but the LRLRL configuration leading into and including Chris Iannetta and Ian Stewart may be a hint that this will be Tracy's preference with those two (and Clint Barmes would then replace Herrera at #8) as far as the lineup order.
  • Paul Lo Duca's been getting a couple of  articles about his comeback, but he still seems unlikely to be here a month from now. Only if Iannetta or Miguel Olivo get injured do I see him having a shot, and that would only be temporary.
  • D-backs starter Brandon Webb is still not all that close to ready for pitching in Spring games, and still seems well behind Jeff Francis in his recovery given recent reports. If he's unavailable by the beginning of the season, which seems likely at this point, look for Kevin Mulvey or Rodrigo Lopez to get starts instead.
