Every Rockie who participated offensively reached base at least once (except for Mike Paulk), and five pitchers combined for a three-hitter as the Rockies dominated the Dodgers in every facet of the game on their way to a 12-0 drubbing of their division rival.
On the hill, Greg Smith shut down the Dodgers for three innings, yielding two hits and a walk while striking out three. Ubaldo Jimenez started the game and didn't allow a run in three innings, despite allowing three walks. He was a little bit better this time out than last time, though, as he struck out two and only allowed one hit. Justin Speier was terrific in a quick inning of work, inducing a pop up and two strikeouts as part of his 1-2-3 frame. Matt Reynolds and Andrew Johnston then closed out the Dodgers with consecutive hitless innings.
Offensively, Seth Smith went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs batted in. And, as mentioned above, there were plenty of other contributors in the rout. The Rockies got extra base hits out of Smith, Clint Barmes, Paul Phillips, Wilin Rosario, and Jonathan Herrera.
