It is hard to believe, but the Colorado Rockies have managed just one winning streak on this young season. They have a chance to double that today after taking the nightcap from yesterday's double header.
With a win today, the Rockies would win their third series in six attempts. Lineups and pitching matchups after the jump. Oh the anticipation - will EY2 be in the starting lineup?!
Volstad is just 23 years old but is already pitching in his third major league season. His starts have been remarkably consistent, as he has allowed 3 runs on five hits in all three starts, pitching between six and seven innings each outing. No Rockie has more than nine career PA against Volstad, but Carlos Gonzalez and Troy Tulowitzki have each gone deep on the tall right-hander, while Todd Helton doubled, tripled and walked twice in six career PA.
De la Rosa has turned in three completely different starts so far. The Marlins have hit DLR pretty well in his career, with five batters posting a .900+ OPS off of him, led by Hanley Ramirez, who has reached base in eight of fourteen plate appearances. Jorge Cantu is the only Marlin to hit a home run our lefty.
