GAME DISCUSSION HERE
Unfortunately, this series has unfolded pretty much how I predicted. The stopper is going to have to be 22-year-old rookie Jhoulys Jose Molina Chacin. The best pitching performance by a pitcher named "Chacin" in MLB history came on this day for Toronto. I'm going to go out on a whim and suggest Jhoulys will beat that at some point in his career, so what better day than today? Considering Jonathan is responsible for the MLB's best start by a pitcher named Sanchez, it would be nice not to get him at his best.
Unfortunately, Sanchez has been at his best this season so far. The lefty has allowed just seven hits and two runs in his last three starts, striking out 27. He does give up plenty fly balls though, and with the wind apparently blowing out to right field, maybe we can get a bay shot.
Also of note, Jim Tracy was "as mad yesterday as I have seen him since taking over the Rockies last May," according to Troy Renck, so Tracy called a team meeting this morning. Let's hope whatever he said in those ten minutes suddenly gives the club patience/confidence/talent.
Lineups et al after the jump.
