Thursday Pebble Report: Chris Balcom-Miller comes up as tough-luck loser

Colorado Springs and the entire Pacific Coast League had the day off.

Tulsa, L 0-1
An RBI bunt single in the seventh inning by NW Arkansas was all the scoring in this game. Matt Repec collected two of Tulsa's four hits, and Cory Riordan held NW Arkansas to two hits in five innings. He walked three and struck out five.

Modesto, W 3-2 in 10 innings
Back-to-back doubles in the 10th by Scott Robinson and Brian Rike pushed Modesto to victory over Bakersfield. Jordan Pacheco drove in Modesto's first run on a sac fly in the first, and Maikol Gonzalez drew a bases-loaded walk in the eighth to tie the game at two.

Ethan Hollingsworth turned in a an excellent start by limiting Bakersfield to two runs in seven innings and striking out eight. Rex Brothers struck out five in two innings of work. Stephen Dodson picked up the win after pitching a scoreless top of the 10th.

Asheville, L 1-2
Chris Balcom-Miller took the loss in this one, but it wasn't his fault. He allowed two runs (one earned) in five innings and struck out five. He did have two wild pitches, but his GO-FO was 6-4. Asheville scored its lone run on a second-inning homer by Kent Matthes.
