As reported by Thomas Harding, Ubaldo Jimenez has broken the Rockies record for consecutive scoreless innings, extending it to 33 before Conor Jackson's two run home run in the bottom of the eighth ended the streak. Finishing his start with just two runs allowed, Jimenez also ties an obscure major league record set by the Reds Edinson Volquez two years ago of twelve starts to begin a season while allowing two or fewer runs.
With the two runs allowed today, Jimenez's league leading ERA has risen to 0.93. He picked up the victory to improve to 11-1. Russ will have a full game wrap later this evening.
