Coming from various twitter sources, it has been announced that Ubaldo Jimenez has been named the NL starter for the 2010 All-Star Game.
Ubaldo's 15-1 record and 2.20 ERA gave NL Manager Charlie Manuel a reason to select him over his own ace Roy Halladay or Florida's #1, Josh Johnson.
As a Rockies fan, I'm excited about the recognition. Ubaldo's had a very exciting season to date.
This marks the first Rockies pitcher to start an All-Star game, and the 3rd straight year where a member of the Rockies rotation has taken the mound.
Joining Ubaldo on the squad will be Troy Tulowitzki. Sort of.
And that's all.
Congrats to Ubaldo, and may you lead the NL to glory and WS home-field advantage!
