Saturday Pebble Report: Casper Lights The Night Sky With Bombs

Colorado Springs, L 4-9
Kaz Matsui, CF Cole Garner, and LF Jay Payton accounted for nine of the Springs' 12 hits. They split the hits three each, but it was Payton who unleashed his whack stick and hit a three-run homer. Chaz Roe: 4.1 IP, 14 H, 9/8 R/ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 1 HR.

Tulsa, W 6-2
Greg Reynolds turned in another solid start. This time he allowed two runs in six innings and struck out seven. RHP Bruce Billings pitched two scoreless innings and struck out four in relief of Reynolds.

Catcher Jordan Pacheco hit his first homer with Tulsa, and CF Charlie Blackmon collected two hits (one for a double), scored twice, and drove in one.

Modesto, W 6-2
Catcher Dustin Garneau drove in four runs as part of his 2-for-3, one double night. First baseman Mike Zuanich added two doubles and an RBI as well. RHP Ethan Hollingsworth saw an unearned runs score in seven innings and struck our five. Casey Weathers struck out another two batters in his inning of relief work.

Asheville, L 3-5 (7 innings)
Center fielder Delta Cleary Jr. hit his fourth homer of the season, a solo shot in the fifth. RHP Nicholas Schnaitmann allowed all five runs in 4 2/3 innings, and RHP Coty Woods pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 innings.

Asheville, W 4-2 (7 innings)
Third baseman Nolan Arenado hit his 10th homer of the season, a two-run blast in the first inning. CF Cleary drove in two runs in the fifth on a single. DH Eliezer Mesa collected two hits and two runs scored. LHP Jonathan Vargas allowed two runs in the bottom of the first, but then shut down Greenville for the next three innings. He struck out the side in the fourth inning to finish his night.

Tri-City, L 2-3
Four Boise pitchers combined to strike out 19 Dust Devils last night. RHP Erik Stavert took the loss as he allowed three runs in six innings. He walked two and struck out five. RHP Sean Jarrett struck out three in one inning, and RHP Craig Baker struck out one in the ninth inning.

RHP Albert Campos did well on the mound, allowing only an unearned run in seven innings and striking out seven. The same cannot be said for Missoula's Kevin Eichhorn because he allowed 11 runs on 13 hits in four innings. Victor Acosta also had a rough go of it by allowing 10 runs on seven hits and four walks in 1 1/3 innings. Victor Lara allowed the last five.
