It wasn't looking good for the Rockies when the ninth inning started. Down 0-1, the offense had been mostly silent up to that point. Dexter Fowler led off the top of the ninth with a walk. Carlos Gonzalez stepped to the plate and worked the count full. Then BAM! A hit to Triples Alley, or the place where the Giants' dreams of victory go to die. Cody Ross was kind of hilarious on that play. Fowler scored. CarGo slid into third base as Freddy Sanchez's throw wound up going into the stands. CarGo advanced to home plate on the error. Rockies lead the game!
1-2-3 bottom of the ninth! The Rockies win!
Still, for eight innings the offense left Jorge De La Rosa out there for the loss. But a win is a win is a win.
