KYF #51: Rockies Close Out Regular Season At Coors Field With Series Against Dodgers

LOS ANGELES DODGERS (75-81, ELIMINATED)

Last Series vs. Rockies: 1-2 series loss @ LA

Ubaldo Jimenez started the first game of the series and wound up with his 19th win of the season. Also, we saw Troy Tulowitzki hit his 24th homer of the season. Jhoulys Chacin dominated the second game of the series, throwing eight shutout inning. Franklin Morales allowed two runs to ruin the potential shutout, but at that point the Rockies were winning 12-0. The next day the Dodgers closed out the series with an extra-innings victory.

Last Two Series Results: 1-2 series loss vs. San Diego; 1-2 series loss at Arizona

The Padres' Clayton Richard shut down the Dodgers in the first game of the season with a complete game shutout. The next day Ted Lilly received little run support and lost 1-3 to the Padres. The Dodgers then won the last game against the Padres and the first game against the Diamondbacks. On Sunday, George Sherrill and Jonathan Broxton allowed four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to blow a 4-1 lead.
