Game 8: Jhoulys Chacin vs. James McDonald

It's the final showdown in a four game set between the Rockies and the Pirates this afternoon/morning. The Rockies will go with Jhoulys Chacin, whose legend is growing by the start, while Pittsburgh will counter with former Dodgers righty James McDonald.

As you may remember from his LA days, McDonald has pretty good stuff, but had trouble harnessing it in Dodger Blue. However, since his trade to the Pirates (for Octavio Dotel!), McDonald has looked much more comfortable, though he still has some control issues. In any case, it'll be an interesting matchup of high ceiling starters today.

Colorado has been in first place in the NL West for four consecutive days -- the first time that has happened since 2006, if you can believe it. Let's hope that the Rockies can pull out this game and a road series win.
