OFFICIAL NEWS OF OFFICIALNESS: THE GAME HAS BEEN DELAYED DUE TO RAIN. MORE UPDATES SOON.
The Rockies eked one out last night against the Mets, despite questionable bullpen work, some shoddy defense, and the fact that they left a small village on the basepaths last night. Counterpoint: The Mets did even worse.
Esmil Rogers went out in his last start and shut the Pirates down pretty handily. Hopefully the Mets don't provide much more trouble.
Lineups and such post-jump.
Rockies Lineup:
1. Seth Smith (L) RF
2. Jonathan Herrera (S) 2B
3. Carlos Gonzalez (L) LF
4. Troy Tulowitzki (R) SS
5. Jose Lopez (R) 3B
6. Todd Helton (L) 1B
7. Ryan Spilborghs (R) CF
8. Chris Iannetta (R) C
9. Esmil Rogers (R) P
Mets Lineup:
1. Jose Reyes (S) SS
2. Daniel Murphy (L) 2B
3. David Wright (R) 3B
4. Carlos Beltran (S) RF
5. Ike Davis (L) 1B
6. Angel Pagan (S) CF
7. Willie Harris (L) LF
8. Josh Thole (L) C
9. Jon Niese (L) P
I REALLY have to wonder what Tracy is thinking with that lineup.
Facts:
1. Spilborghs sucks in CF.
2. Helton's back is apparently made of the kind of balsa wood that lets you hit lefties.
3. Dexter Fowler has apparently forgotten how to bat RHB.
Outside of Herrera, Cargo, Tulo, and Lopez, this lineup is a real headscratcher. I'm sure there's a logical reason for it, but that's no reason for me to not make fun of it.
