Let the showcasing continue!
One silver lining that should be noted is that Ian Stewart's abysmal season likely will make him a very affordable bounce-back option for the Rockies at third next season. While he isn't drawing much trade interest, Stewart could be a prime candidate to provide starting level production at a bench level salary in 2012. As a prototype, consider the Royals Alex Gordon, who put up a .215/.315/.355 line in 2010 at 26, but had his breakthrough this season. The preferred calculus for the Rockies to cover the downside of that kind of risk would entail them getting a more certain upgrade at either catcher or second base, but it's something worth considering.
GO ROCKIES!
