2011 Rockies Game #151: Eric Surkamp vs. Drew Pomeranz

Wow, nothing screams meaningless September baseball like a match-up of two LHP's that were pitching at the AA level a month ago. That said, this one is a bit more intriguing than most games of this ilk as both Pomeranz and Surkamp have real long term viability for their teams. Pomeranz is generally considered to have the better stuff, the higher ceiling of the two, but there's no doubt that Surkamp's stellar season has put him on the radar. Let's hope this match-up of young but promising NL West arms leaves a more favorable impression of the Rockies future than last night's contest.
